Hello,
I have Blue Demon 308 Flux core wire I'd like to use for a low tech decorative project.
It's 316 I want to weld.
Could this work?
Thanks!

For low tech decorative, yes.

Thanks! The label says up to 308
Knowing a little about metallurgy, I'm not sure about the "up to 308". Would there be an alloy ingredient involved...

Filler wire is labeled with appropriate “structural code” ratings. What you are doing can safely be done with 304 candidly.

Ideally, you always use same or better grade wire when dealing with stainless. But for decorative, no sweat-

just keep in mind the weld will corrode before the rest of the piece does. that might be an issue in marine/beach environments.
