Hi,
Have been trying to find a deal on an older transformer 250ish Mig Welder...

Found a Hobart Beta Mig 250 that the Owner got from his DEAD Uncles Shop. (no info there, I guess!)

He plugged it into a 220 single phase and nothing powers up and he does not want to deal with it.

Willing to let it go for $300 and I figure I can fix it, probably something simple... (I'm guessing!)

Worth the risk?

These machines are suppose to be bullet proof???

A lot of the members are working folks, some are even from outside the US, so you’ll get replies at various times.

I don’t know the unit, but I’m not sure I’d spend $300 on it either. For barely double that you can get a fully warranted, new unit that should serve you well.
