im mig welding 6 inch pipe with 0.35 wire with pure CO2 shielding gas.i have a 1/16 inch land an root opening. on 17 volts an 185 wire feed speed.
ok heres my problem. on the bottem of the pipe the penetration its cold i get penetration but its all dribbly. an on the top it keeps blowing through an i get excess penetration. ive tried to open up the root an change the land size but no luck. as well as try to change the volts an wfs an chang my gun angle, but what i have above is the best i could do.
any tips of any ideas on what im doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

At the bottom, 6 o'clock, you should have a distinct "push" angle, so the arc-force pulls the puddle with you to avoid "icicles". At 9 o'clock, you should be dead on. At twelve, you should be pushing pretty good, so the arc-force pushes "puddle" into the keyhole.

Otherwise, you have to change adjustments as you come around.
