Miller 251 or 252

Anybody familiar and have a preference, trying to decide which one to buy both in good shape used of course ive used a252 liked it a lot any info is appreciated

Don't know anything about a 251 but I sure do love my 252!!!!

We have both at work, and for general-purpose MIG, the machines are on equal footing. The 252 has more programmability, including pre-flow, soft-start time, spot-time, and some other functions I don't recall. It's also set up very nicely for using a spool gun.

That said, there's more than "can" go wrong with the 252, with the additional electronics.

If the pricing is similar, The decision should be based on your intended use. If you intend to stick to steel and stainless and are unlikely to use a spool gun, the 251 is the simpler machine from a mechanical/technological standpoint. If you intend to weld aluminum with it, or may use a spool gun for other reasons, the 252 is the better-equipped machine.
