Check with the staffing agencies in Elkhart, Indiana. Lots of TIG jobs going on over there, with lots of overtime. Living is very inexpensive in that area, if you are traveling in.
Wages seem to be starting at $14, but moving up to $18 and over once you are 'hired in'; usually after about 45 days. Remember, with the overtime, even the welders who are not yet 'hired in' are bringing home some very nice pay checks!
