Some friends of friends are looking into starting a bicycle manufacturing business in the Detroit area and are looking for plasma weldors. I don't believe they are looking to hire the weldors directly, but to farm out the work to an area job shop. This might be an opportunity for someone who is looking to start their own shop. The tube cutting and forming would most likely be done by the same shop, but I'm just guessing on that.
This is all still very preliminary, but if anyone is interested, I'll pass along any other info as i get it.
