I just received an email from a manager friend at Valmot/Pi-Rod, located in Plymouth IN. They are hiring MIG welders. From what I remember, they are using hard wire (.035 to .045), typically with a gas mix of 90/10 or 95/5. The test is a 1" 2G, and from what they tell me, takes several hours to complete.
I am not sure about this, but I think wages run from over $15.00 to over $19.00. I know they are working a lot of overtime. Blue print reading skills, or at least being able to identify welding symbols is a plus. I do know that they might test 40 welders, and only pass one or two. Make sure you understand what you are getting into!
The phone number is 574-935-3221. They are located on Oak Avenue. Rent and cost of living in Plymouth is relatively cheap.
Whos hiring and where, pay, hours, Certification tests given, tig, mig, stick?
