What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Very nice retro looking bike - some decals on the tank would finish it off & break up the sea of red - never realized they put the kick start on the " wrong " side on that model - I hate left hand kick starts ! never feels right & the couple of of Rotax 500 powered bikes with it I had were a bastard to start ! is that the same engine they put in the atc250r ? those things really went especially the last couple of years with the 6speed box - I nearly bought one in bits years ago but was'nt sure how many bits it may have been missing so I left it - wished I got it now - they make fortunes.

had the honda wings on he tank when i first did the bike to race.
gas fumes lifted them off in a few weeks.
not sure how long it will sit before sold so opted not to put them on

Yes- they put some nasty s#it in the gas these days - takes most stuff off & buggers rubber parts - last tank I painted I did in 2k put the decals on the base coat then clear coated over the lot - stayed put well so far.

Hey Craig, here is my brothers 1974 250 Elsinore. For anyone interested in the background of this bike that dominated it's class when introduced

the tank on the 1980 cr250's are plastic, no paint on it.
i sanded and used a restoring liquid.

richard,
yes Honda changed the motocross world with the 125 and 250 Elsinores.
they were light and fast compared to the European bikes.
i raced Bultaos in 1974 and you needed a lot of motor work to
pull a start against a stock Elsinore.

Looks great Motox! Love those old 2 strokes, I just sold a 1980 YZ 465 a few years ago to a collector. He has two huge barns with two levels full of bikes. He has bikes both street and dirt with the tits still on the original tires and about six brands I had never even heard of, place is like a museum. :) One of my favs that he had, was a new Kawasaki 500 triple 2 stroke. Every single bike has ethanol free req. fuel in it and they all are run..

Never had a dirt bike. Did a lot of welding on them though. Street bikes and drag bikes for me, but have sold them all, doctors orders.
