What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Hello all,
Nowadays Flash-butt welding machine is used in rail industry to weld a Hadfield crossing with a R260 rail, but I want to know if there is any welding technique to use instead of Flash-butt welding.

Thanks in advance

There are always other ways to weld metals together. Sometimes the chosen method is used because of the end results, IE maybe it reduces the haz, thereby making the resulting weld more flexible or less prone to stress cracking. Or it might be the cheapest or fastest way to get an acceptable weld.
I have more questions than answers

i had to google that, its quite interesting method.
of course most people know thermite welding for rail. however it seams thats a low quality weld and flash butt weld is much higher quality.
tweak it until it breaks

Yes actually flash-butt has higher quality than other types of welding. But the flash-butt machine is expeniseve and I'd like to find an alternative way instead of using it.
