What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Did some work for a paving contractor ,his drivers didn’t like cranking up the jacks high enough not hit bumps when hooking up the trailers. I replaced four in one year  . I told him to to put a 6x6 under the jack so they don’t have crank as much, better to lose a 6x6 then a jack.

It's a two speed jack, what's so hard? That plus a block, too easy. I'd rattle some drivers.

I agree. No different than semi trailers, its takes 15 seconds longer to crank em all the way up

As a long time contractor I realized that accidents do happen as a normal part of business. But I took a really dim view of negligence or laziness. After all, these guys are getting paid by the hour so if it takes a little longer to crank up the jack or drive a little slower and more defensively they shouldn't act like that's a bad thing. That attitude of course has to be supported by management that allows for then to to things correctly without feeling pressure to go faster.

I'd crank the jack up, paint a line around the lower leg and pass the word that anyone moving the trailer without the leg all the way up was going to get hammered.

Best regards to all,

Lance
