What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

I currently use a table 6'x3' and I going to make it 4'x3', one section is a t-slot table from a big knee mill and the other part is 3/8 plate

Nice work. One thing to point out, on your mill table, cast iron sucks for getting the welding ground across to the part. I don't know why but it does. We used heavy old fitting benches for welding once and the power never jumped cleanly. (I know about direct grounding and all that but, Y'know) switched to steel benches and happy times. For that section make a grounds attachment with the copper wire wrapped around it like jody has.

dzljon,

That's a nice idea, but I could not put a vise like that on an arm, regarless how heavy.

I do a lot of fabrication, and I would want to take advantage of the meat of that vice... I would beat the hell out out of it, and that arm would not hold, it would bounce. I want solid support from the striking surface to the floor, and your vice arm does not provide that. As a simple welding support, it's fine, but very expensive for such a limited purpose.

Beautiful job. Nice work, and from what I can see, a nicely laid-out shop as well.
Cheers.

Thanks for your view but I used brass shims to make a nice fit and it does not bounce, and for my use in the shop is does very well

I'll wail on the anvil of my vice with a 3# hammer, with all I've got, which is why your extension mount wouldn't work for me.

I think it's beuatifully executed, and if it does everything you ask of it, then it's perfect.

My comment simply meant it would not work for me and the way I would use it.

I'm thinking of something very similar to mount an arbor press to the side of my bench. Looks good. :D
Cheers.
