Nothing fancy I am afraid. It is a Chinese lathe from an English company Warco. The model is WM250-V

if it does the job thats all that maters.
when you need a part that you can't just
go out and buy that makes it special.
they are great for cleaning and polishing round
stock as well.

Testing how it will look.
I still have to attach the slats to the table, weld holders for the angle grinders, paint the frame etc.

This little sucker drilled 640 holes on 20mm thick steel and it looks like it could do as much without breaking a sweat.

Thank you. You are making me blush :oops: , however compared to the builds of some other folk in here I consider mine simply basic.
Having/acquiring the tools to do the job has made the difference between success and failure.
If someone was able to order the slats at a low price then the build would be very fast while still costing a fraction of commercially available similar tables.

If you could melt all chips from drilling the holes into new steel that would be enough for a decent sized table ;)

I still have to make hangers for the angle grinders etc but it is more or less finished.
Now to start making some tools for it. :lol:

I made some clamps today. Really easy, just saw off one end and weld a pin I made on my lathe.
The pin is made from CK45 (because this is what I had available) so I used some ER312 to weld it just in case.

And it holds nicely just by the sideways pressure of the clamping action?

Yes. I tried making the pin come out by applying more pressure but no matter how much I screwed it down it stayed put.

That's a fantastic table and I applaud your commitment. I made a stronghand inspired replica but without all the holes because i knew how time consuming that would be. FIgured the slots would be enough to slip sliding tools in

Thanks but it was not that bad. Total time to mark, drill and bevel one plate was less than 4 hours. So the slats could be finished in four 8 hour days if someone were to work on them full time.

Not that BAD?! lol. You are committed. I probably put 12 hours total into my table and I'm sooo glad it's done.

Yes, it is an ESG Orbitalum tungsten grinder.
As far as next projects, at the time I do not have anything in the works right now.
Probably I will start building the vertical posts for the fence of my new house.
However for the next couple of months my free time will be limited since the time has come for the module I am teaching in the current welding engineer course and after that there is a refinery shut down in which I am involved. So not weekends for me in the next few months :(
