What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Just finished this table for my deck. The one in the background had a glass top that was shattered when a storm hit so I said screw the glass and built one with an expanded metal top. I used 2x2 x14ga.for the frame and 1 1/2" X 1/8'' angle for the top. The expanded was free as it was leftover from a trailer repair.Total cost about $75. Should outlast me :D

Thanks guys. All we can buy anymore is Chinese junk so I built a table that will outlast 20 china tables...for about 1/4 the cost.

Top job, quite impressive actually. Very practical use of mesh instead of glass / polycarbonate. No breakages, the crumbs just fall right through!

Thanks. There were many occasions when we came home to find our glass topped table flipped over by the wind and I knew it was going to break one day and it did. I am so sick of over-priced chinese junk that I am on a mission to bullet-proof everything I possibly can around my home.

exnailpounder,

What is the size of that table top, please? You've inspired me to start planning a similar project and your table top looks very well proportioned.

Thanks,
