What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Me and a buddy are pretty much finised building this splitter.
It's a pretty big one, has a 16hp motor with a 23gpm 2 stage pump and 6" ram with 20 gallon hyd tank.
3500lb axle spring mounted with 16" D rated trailer tires.

It's heavy.

Used 7018 for the heavy stuff, mig for all the light stuff, and tig for the aluminum tank.

Enjoy.

Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.

Well there's pretty much all the pictures.
Not completely done, prolly won't get it sandblasted and powder coated till fall, gonna add a few more things and work a few bugs out.

Have about 50 cords to split between now and fall.
Should be able to get everything we want done on it finished.

Feel free to bash and critique, you know how much I love to argue. :D  8-)

Honestly it was a fun job, and I learned a lot about hrdraulics and moving parts. I did 90% of the welding. This is over at my buddys garage. But I hauled a lot of my tools over.
It's gonna look good painted miller blue with dot reflective tape all over and white rims.

Thanks for veiwing....

~John

Man does that look like a fun project! I have always wanted to build a splitter but there are tons of them on Craigslist for cheap cause the sissys around here find out that wood processing for their new wood burner is hard work and sell splitters for half price. Awesome pictorial as usual John! More!
