This vise base is made from 2x3x 3/8" angle and 3/8" plate. The mounting plate is 6x6" and the opening is about 3 1/4" to fit my 3" square tube welding table. The dual clamp rods 5/8 - 11 threaded rod with contact pads. Yes, of course there are roller thrust bearings under the contact pads, 2100 pound rated, each. :D

Good idea! But I've never owned a vice with such a nice paint job.

I did, when it was brand new, lasted about 2 minutes, , , ,

Just like when we got a new piece of heavy equipment, "I scratched the paint on that one"
