What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Flame maple boards and powder coated frame. Customer totally loved it! That makes my day.

How could they not love it? That's a thing of beauty.

How are the boards attached?

I've got some 1"x1" angle cut at 1" long welded to where the boards will be flush with the top of the frame. Eight pieces of angle per board. Then drilled holes through the angle and screwed the boards down. I also have a piece of tubing ripped down and spanning the middle of both boards short ways for support.

really nice. how did you finish the wood?
I've built several wood/metal tables but
never thought to powder coat..
(even though i have had a dozen
motor cycle frames powder coated)
go figure..

I just do a three step sanding process and use Minwax stain and clear. Also use 0000 steel wool to smooth out. Thanks for the nice replies. The powder coated finish really does look good.
