What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

well if your welding in a shop what i did was take an old jackstand and weld a piece of plate to the top i mainly use it for armrest when cutting it works great because you can swing your arm around to cut nice radiuses i have used it for welding to an it does just fine there to.now out in the field i use c clampsyou'll be surprised at how many ways you can clamp them to suport your arm when in funny places.

I scooped a pretty decent high back wooden -leather upholstered dineing room chair ( no arms ) from the dump. I built a metal base with a footrest -installed 4 - 3in caster wheels. The height was set to be comfortable for me when working on small projects on my layout/welding table. I soon came to find it made a great armrest also. Just turn the chair backwards and it easily moves around to act as an arm rest and when the job is done just spin it back around -sit down and admire your work. Works for me. :P

Often use regular pipe stands.
I have more questions than answers
