Stainless steel tumbler weldabiliity

I want to tig weld a handle on a yeti tumbler. Has anyone tried this? I keep getting told it's too thin.

If you succeed in welding on a handle it's likely you will warp it enough that you will lose the vacuum seal.

We spoke about this on facebook. The brainstrust say its not going to end well. They Suggested making a separate handle that the cup rests in and clamps around the top area some how, similar to a pistol drill side handle.

Best cup to keep your beer cold too. They will keep ice for 24 hrs
