I started padding beads with 7018 on an old piece of scrap until I had built up quite a block. Then I used a variety of tools to carve and polish it, including a milling machine, band saw, belt grinders, die grinders, carbide burrs, angle grinder with cutoff disk, and even some hand filing.

Everyone sees something different when they look at a block of steel. Not sure how you found that cat in the middle! But it’s a nice one.
