Not alot of welding in this one. I need to make up some staino valve handwheels to replace pressed painted mild steel wheels that rot out fast from acid rain off evaporation condensers. Can't buy em, gotta make em, I said can dooo.
This is what I got so far.

Still gotta get some more bits and pieces and cut some more angle, then it's drilling and tapping time.

First ring rolled is 3-1/4" diameter with 1" x 1/8" flat bar. Rolled easy, I reckon it should do 1/4". It will also roll smaller diameter, I think it will go to 2-1/2" but I don't need it that small.
Next shop accessory: precision slat type welding table. Stayed tuned.

I used 6301 bearings which are a metric 12mm bearing. Over your way I guess you'd go for a 1/2" equivalent. The bearings I got were sealed and lubed, but that's just because they were the best deal I could find at the time that weren't Chinese. I seriously dislike any Chinese made bearing, even if they have a good non-Chinese brand name. I've seen them all crap out fast - big ones, little ones, doesn't matter, all crap.
The fasteners I used were all hi-tensile 8.8
