handcuff rings

this is a small job i was doing yesterday. these are hand cuff rings that are going to be welded to the benches of steel picnic like tables in one of the housing areas. these are simply 1 inch square tubing welded into a rectangle on a 2" x 3/8th inch baseplate welded with 7018 rods. i used 3/32 electrodes to reduce warpage. the 2 open ends are capped with a 1 inch square of 1/4" to prevent the hiding of contraband or weapons.

I found irony in your particular situation. We all work for "the man", but most of us don't pass razor-wire gates to get there.

I am surprised at how much work you have to do. At the prison I work at the inmates do the welding and fabing, with supervisor oversight....I use that term "supervise" loosely.

The inside construction crew built a sweet hydraulic trailer. Lifts up and down to ground level to run hot food carts to max security unit....towing the carts wore the wheels out.

The stuff that is made in this environment out of necessity it pretty cool and VERY durable.
