Log banister brackets

I DID NOT WELD AN INCH ON THESE THINGS!!! I recently had a large project for someone who is working on finishing their log house and building a new barn. I had to make a few gates and these brackets. I cut all of these by hand. The brackets had to be 5"x6" and the design couldn't be over 5". I cut 2 of each design and 10 blank 5"x6" brackets. The person I made it for welded the pipe to them, sand blasted them, and painted them. I just had to cut the brackets. Fun easy project, unfortunately I miscalculated how many he wanted made and under priced it horribly, but made up for it elsewhere

By the way, all of those were hand cut. Yes even the square parts on the bottom were free hand cut.

Thanks, it was fun cutting them that small. We made all of those designs larger before but not that small before.

Wow, that is very nice. I don't think I could do those free hand, at least not without some practice runs first.

Thanks guys. I was so upset when I saw the welds the guy did. I would have tigged it and made it look good but he ended up mig welding them and went too fast from what I could see and stopped a lot and didn't tie in too good. I worked so hard on them things. I had to do 10 of them and 10 blanks. I cheated on the blanks, I hand cut a 4 foot long strip 5" wide and took it to the chop saw and cut it every 6" so I didn't have to hand cut all of them.

Those look great - they really add some character to the railing.

All right... I'm going to be accused of being the language police...
Those are balustrade brackets, not banistrade brackets.
A balustrade is level. A banistrade decends a stairway or ramp.
Yeah, I know, I'm separating fly turds from pepper... It's like the difference between muntons and mullions in a divided-light window.
