I don't know if this is suitable for a welding forum; it's all done with silver bearing solder. I made this fellow a couple years ago. I'm planning a larger one made from rebar.

I don't think he used those tiny little arms much anyway. :D

Very cool... my 3 year old son would love that. Were all about Dinosaurs, Sharks and Snakes right now...

T-Rex was angry simply because of those short arms.

He couldn't scratch his n#ts when he woke up in the morning...

A few nights ago, I was contacted by a woman who had seen the pics of Ol' Rex and wanted to buy him. I explained that it had taken me over 200 hours to make and was not for sale. She then told me about her 9 year old autistic daughter. She says she almost never displays any emotion whatsoever but had lit up when she saw this T Rex and now she wouldn't go to sleep at night until being shown the pics of "Eldon's Dinosaur"
I then told her that I still would not sell it, but would be honored to give it to her daughter personally. I just got home from a road trip to present Rex to this little girl. She was ecstatic and appeared quite happy to receive it and her parents were also thrilled. A very nice family. It was totally worth it! :D

XWrench, great story, fantastic new home. Couldn't be a better outcome. You made someone very happy.

But please don't tell the little girl about his arms.

Remember the golden rule: what happens in the forum, stays in the forum, eh?

@xwrench,
Just when we think that our society has lost most of what makes us good and wholesome we hear a story like this. Thank You! I'm sure that someone who gets up every morning and finds life a bit harder than it should be would find it easier to think about yourself and yet you've gone out of your way to make life happier for someone else. I commend you and you offer us some hope. Thanks for sharing that story.

All right, I'll say it,

Here's a toast to the seemingly rare good people left in the world:

May the world understand that challenges are not shortcomings, and the heart may exceed the body that contains it.
