My welding cart

As I started getting into working with metal in the spring of last year, and consulting my youngest son, who is a professional welder, I bought a Miller 211 MIG machine with a spool gun and a little welding cart. I didn't realize in the beginning the stress I put on that little cart trying to hold the two bottles. It was hard to move it and listening to the sound of the wheels for very concerning. After a few weeks I decided to build my own welding cart.
I designed it around a drawer section of a Harbor Freight tool cart and the two gas tanks I had purchased.

Here it is!

3 months ago I purchased a Miller Dynasty 200 DX with a cooler and luckily it fit on the same cart after a few minor changes.

That's a sweet fit. The years of cabinet making really shows. most people build a bit of slop into metal structures, for fitment safety. something that doesn't work well with wood.

Thanks, Mike!
Working with metal is definitely different, and I'm learning as I go.
My experience as a cabinet maker is helpful, but only to a point.

I find that working with wood helps you to learn finesse that helps in metal work. Helps you to avoid the urge to belt something that won't fit with a 5 kilo hammer.

Heck of a nice cart there. I gotta get around to making a real cart for my plasma cutter. That wouldn't be a '40 Ford in the background would it?
