The tubing ended up on the floor and it bothered me to no end, bending down to pick up material. At the same time all the cut off pieces had no real place to go either. So I decided to build a tubing rack to get the stuff off the floor and to be more and better organized.
Here is my solution after getting some inspiration at a friends shop. He had tubing and cut offs in separate racks. For space efficiency I combined both into one. It should work for me for a long time.
Here it is:
I put it on casters to have it mobile and to be able to move it, as my shop develops.
The back side is able to hold some 4 x 8 sheet stock.
I purchase tubing in 12 ft. lengths to make it more manageable. The 12 ft. lengths go on the rack on top.
Storage for different lengths of cutoffs are at the bottom.
I was able to press my new strong hand risers into action, as I was building the main frame for the rack.
Love that stuff! It's nice when something works as advertised!
