Simple plans for the pit? Or the divorce?
Here's one example from here. Perhaps you can PM him for plans or sketches?

This topic is on Matt Coe's spherical fire pits, and mentions the source of the hemispheres...

Not as cool as Steve's suggestions. But simple the bottom was a piece of 14 in sch 40 SS. And the top was 18 or 20 inch. Threw it together with some old 1-1/4 black pipe and 2x2x1/4 angle for the cross pattern holding the upper ring. Plasma cut some squiggles in the base for air flow when they got hot they warped out on there own. Keeps the fire burning clean and I get less smoke so it's easier to drink beer around.

I wouldn't be shy about contacting trackranger about that fire-pit. He may have drawings or sketches that will save you a lot of interpretation and extrapolation.
I thought it was a very tidy design, and would easily please a spouse.
