I've got ten pounds of 617 that i'm not gona use in my lifetime . Good for something that would see alot surface wear and or heat cycling ... Good for Hard Facing something .
617 is a nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum filler metal designed for welding of Inconels as well as between themselves and dissimilar metals such as stainless, carbon or low alloy steels.
Excellent for high temperature applications and have excellent mechanical stability, oxidation and corrosion resistance as well as good stress rupture properties at temperatures up to 2000oF. This filler metal is commonly used in the aerospace industry for engine components, after-burners, turbine seals; heat-treating equipment and many other high temperature service applications.
Nickel: ~55% , Balance
Chromium: 20.0-24.0 %
Cobalt: 10.0-15.0 %
