i know you can use gas with flux core wire, but what polarity do you use? do you set your machine up as if you were using flux core or do you set it up for gas?
Most outershield wires run on DC+ same as hardwire. But check the box the wire came in, if you have it and it will tell you. Outershield is fluxcore with an outershield of gas, also sometimes called dualshield. Hardwire is regular old mig welding. Innershield is fluxcore without a gas. You may already know all of that but thought I would throw it out there.
