Did a thread search for "remote." Didn't see my solution.

The 130 S and GTS do not have a switch for "local." I don't have an 8 pin remote switch. I don't want to buy a $200 foot pedal just right now until I understand what would be a good buy for use down the road.

The welder will not work in TIG mode without a switch. How can I get something to pins 2 and 3 to activate the current? Would I buy an 8 pin socket from TA? I'm not in the market for the Arc-Zone 14 to 8 adapter, it's too expensive.

If you have something for sale that will help, PM me with info.

Well, I bought a momentary switch at Radio Shiest fro 3 bucks and made a bracket to mount it to the side of the handle. I use my forefinger to activate it. It's on the left, so even though it's not a flat switch, it's not in the way. At least the way I hold the torch.

As fa as the plug goes, a very nice gentleman sent me one gratis from another welding BBS. A few feet of dual conductor shielded wire and I'm in the saddle.
