Beginner Q- what can I do to promote better flux coverage of the weld pool?

Wire is .045 NR-211-MP at 17v and 100ipm, trying to hold 5/8 stickout. Weaving side to side on 1/8 and 3/16 tubing.

Also, why do you feel you need more slag coverage than what the wire is currently providing? IOW, how is it welding (overall) right now? Pictures speak 1000 words.

Definitely pulling the bead.

Weld looks good but I think my issue was too little stickout. Image

That's a good looking bead for gasless flux core. Heck that's a good looking weld for any wire feed process!
