Hi all,
First post here, and new to welding also.
I have just inherited an older oxy-actylene torch kit, and have had the Craftsman regulators and torches re-furbished.
I have an actylene tank, but as yet no 02. I notice that the regulators have different threads on them....one male and one female, the actylene being male. What type of connection should be on the 02 bottle I buy to connect to a female thread?
...any help appreciated.

The regulator should attach right to the tank. Then i put my spark arrestor, then the hose and then the torch. The acetalyne connections are reverse threads.
Can you post pictures of what you have?
Tell us a bit more about yourself, as an introduction.
Cheers

Several different tank sizes use the same tank valve. Your oxygen regulator will fit only oxygen cylinders. The different fittings are to keep you from putting the wrong regulator on the wrong tank.

Edit
Check with your tank supplier, if it’s a small regulator set it may only work with the small tanks.
I have more questions than answers
