Not long ago I picked up a portaband stand from Swag Off Road. Some of you may have them, the nice thing about them is the miter slot, and a reasonably priced Incra miter option. My particular Milwaukee 6236 Portaband had different holes than noted by Swag Off Road.

I talked with Troy and he sent me out a blank plate, but rather I realized I could open up the throat just a tad and be good to go, just that I had to use 2 holes from different models...but they were already drilled and countersunk in place.

I started out using a file, but as you would imagine it was slow going, but it was working and if I could have finished it this way with some patience... ;)

Then it dawned on me, I got a small 1" homemade belt sander several months ago when some friends called me on a tool run, and that was actually narrow enough to fit inside the slot, which is pretty narrow and just over 1" wide. We often chide each other about our tool runs, we're known to each other as the Seagull, the Coyote and I'm the Vulture. We follow craigslist looking for tools as our prey... :D

I have a Wilton 7x12 horizontal band saw, but wanted to have this with the Incra miter so I can cut various angles on the ends of pieces I'm fabricating up for some of my welding projects. Also has a foot switch for each operation.
