I think it is fairly new. Anybody used one?? Thoughts?

Not I ,, Spartan. I haven't used any hobart machines. sorry I can't help.

Just picked one up. I'll let you know how it does. Seems similar to the 230, but with infinite voltage adjustment and a bit more juice.

Huh, I had no idea those existed, they must be very new, infinite voltage and up to 280 amps is very intriguing for the right price though, keep me posted on how it performs.

Apparently it's so new that even Hobart was surprised I had one. Called them to get the circuit requirement since I'm currently having an electrical upgrade for other machines in my new shop and had already dropped off the 240 (and the manual) when I needed the info. The tech rep says: "You have one of those?! How?" Just got lucky I guess. :lol:

I'll keep you posted.
