I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a supplier of metal material in the SF Bay area. Ideally South Bay area since I'm coming from Santa Cruz.

I'm in need of small quantities of Aluminum 6061 Bar, round & square tube, angle as well as Stainless Steel bar and steel angle.

I know I can purchase online at many places, but with shipping costs seems a bit crazy.

Thanks for any good recommendations.

I replied to your other post on WW.

Thanks again for the suggestion. As it turns out someone local told me to check out State Steel in Watsonville (only 15-miles down the road from me). The owner was super nice and helpful. They had everything I needed and their prices were really competitive.

Good for you.

For me South Bay Metals has the best prices in the bay area. Mike is a great guy, and so was Steve before he moved.

Not a lot of options anymore. SIMS doesn't carry too much and prices are much higher. Allen Steel in Redwood City is hit and miss depending on if you likes you or not...

I'm always intrigued with people asking the same question on multiple forums. :)
