This may sound basic, but what is the best way to store the shielding gas hose on my MIG welder? I've always been afraid to coil it too tightly for fear of kinking it but i need to keep it out of the way when I'm not welding. I Googled this subject but found nothing useful. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks, but I made a mistake in my description. What I meant was the flexible cable/liner that the gun is attached to, which I mistakenly thought was called the shielding gas hose. After thinking about it I should have realized that that would have been the name of the hose connecting the gas cylinder to the welder.
Could I ask for your patience and repeat my question about the cable/liner? On my old Lincoln 180, which I used for most projects before I began to move into pieces with 3/8 and 1/2 inch plate I just strapped a piece of tubing to the side of the cart with a long bolt at right angles and hung the cable over that. I've realized that the weight may have kinked the liner over the years and I want to avoid that.
What do the experienced welders out there do?

Ah I see, thanks for the clarification Richard. So you're basically talking about the MIG cable or "whip" as it's sometimes called. If you've ever bought a MIG liner pretty much anywhere, you will see that the liner itself is coiled in a plastic bag, down to about 8" in diameter, probably for a very good reason. So unless you're coiling up your MIG cable to a diameter smaller than this, I think IMO you'll be just fine with coiling it up to a 12" circle. I doubt you need to save so much space that you need to coil it up tighter than this.
