One of my many hobbies is airgunning. The problem I have, I dont have a good, natural backstop on my property and too many neighbors for me to rely on distance alone. So I came up with my own backstop.
It uses a 4'x6'x3/4" stall mat as the main stop, and a couple of industrial floor mats to catch pellets and a 2x4 in between to act as a spacer and to attach them to. This 2x4 is then hung from a skid-frame I build from bedframe rails and a trundle bed.
My welding is kind of a mixed bag of good and not so good, but its still plenty strong.
I designed the frame so I could drag it with my lawn tractor like a skid, without wheels.
I removed the bed frame from the trundel bed, cut it down the middle lengthwise and widened it using some bedrails I'd picked up for free. This is what the stall mat is screwed to.
The a-frames support the 2x4. The skids are made from more bed rails, welded to some reshaped feet from those rails to form skids.
The shooting gallery was made from a queen size bed platform. Those bars will have shelves for my knock down targets. The center section is for paper targets. I used more rails to form a deflecting plate that should send pellets downwards.
I still have a few finishing touches to add, but its 90% there.
