Time to introduce myself.

I like to weld, as a hobby not my job. My entire career WAS automotive assembly tooling, primarily resistance spot weld assembly tooling for automotive undercarriage and body panels. Unfortunately a large portion of the secondary automotive engineering is now done offshore.

I love auto restoration and fabrication. You can check out some of my work in the link in my sig line. I like red over blue but they both make great products. I lost all my welding equipment in a fire in 2011 and am just getting a shop set up now. I have a good plasma cutter, oxy/fuel and a killer MIG welder. I really want an inverter TIG, but I would have to rob several liquor stores to get one right now.

I learned oxy/fuel and SMAW in high school (about a hundred years ago) and self-taught MIG about 15 years ago. I took some of the settlement money from my fire and went to Lincoln electric for both a one week MIG and TIG classes. I highly recommend the expenditure.
