I have been wanting to build a round welding table for some time. I got this 38" diameter 1/2" plate drop from another project and thought I would put it to good use. This is a table for my garage and depending on how I like it, I might add one to the shop as well. The best part of this build is everything you see is scrap so I have $0 in it! My wife likes that point as well.
The legs are some 2"x4"x 1/8" rectangle tube @ 36" tall and the bars are 1/2".
What I like most about this table is the ability to weld on pipe. I will be able to weld around the whole circumference with out stopping. Maybe you can get some ideas from this table as well.

Seems like a good use for a round drop. I would find a use for it and it just looks cool.

Looks god from here and the price is right. I would probably add a through hole in the center so all it would take is a threaded rod, a plate, and a nut and you have a universal clamp. Nice work.

Now there is a idea I just might use. I was supposed to order a bearing set up that would support a ground and have a lazy susan type of top so I can rotate the table for the shop. Probably ought to get that ordered. I have 24 of these drops so the ideas are endless.

Man that's a good amount of drops. With those extras I would probably build a turntable out of at least one, probably two once nailing the design down

Well, I had 24 drops. I have been giving them away to others needing steel or wanting to make a table like this one. Not sure how many are left. I have been telling my wife I would like to make welding tables and see how well they would go on Craigslist. Who knows.
