Anyone with any tips and tricks welding 8N12 - 6G- restricted
I am having a rough time with this qual
8n12 is extremely sluggish. The weld will only fuse where the arc is very near the underlying base metal. Excessive weaving and heat input can make things worse. Straight Stringers with very little side to side motion is suggested, Also not that there is a great deal of variation among manufacturers of this electrode as far as out of position capabilities go.
